2H Offshore Engineering is an independent engineering company working in the deepwater oil and gas industry. 2H has been at the forefront of deepwater technology for the over 15 years and has developed a top calibre team of experienced professionals skilled in design, installation and operation.

At the Outset

Headquartered in Woking, Surrey, 2H has been a client of Computer Strategies’ for   many years. When CS and 2H first began working together, Woking and Houston were the only offices the company had. Since then, offices have been setup in Rio de Janeiro, Kula Lumpar, Aberdeen, Perth Australia and Beijing.

The Challenges

The major challenge came in 2005 when 2H asked CS to set up their new office in Rio to the same specification as their Woking Head Office. In 2004, Computer Strategies helped 2H with their site to site links to their office in the US. With Rio being the third office in the WAN, CS sent a senior engineer to Rio to manage the project. He had the exciting challenge of setting up the office and ensuring that all machines and remote links were installed and running in time to catch his flight home.

Since then CS have assisted 2H by setting up offices in Kula Lumpar, Aberdeen, Perth Australia & Beijing.

The Tasks at Hand

In addition to the office set ups, CS has worked alongside 2H creating site to site Virtual Private Networks. This means that employees in all offices can communicate via the web in a completely secure environment.

The Outcome

Over the last ten years, 2H has grown into an international, seven site company with over 100 employees. This growth has been facilitated by top calibre IT systems and sound advice. 2H has stayed ahead of the game where its IT is concerned and the rewards have been significant.
