Investors in People – Going from strength to strength

Computer Strategies has been an Investor in People since 2005 and was successfully reviewed against the Standard on 8th November 2011. An extract from the assessor’s report is shown below:

“This was the assessor’s third visit to the company and the overriding impression is of an organisation that is evidently keen not to rest on its laurels but aspires to continually improve its practices, including those relating to the people side of the business. The Investors in People ethos is a cornerstone of the leadership and management culture. Although the company has grown, the directors have retained a personal touch and sustained their commitment to investing in their people and rewarding their efforts. Interviewees were proud to work for Computer Strategies and evidently committed to delivering a high quality service to clients. There was a wealth of good practice in evidence in relation to the Standard to support the assessor’s conclusion that the organization merits retaining its recognition as an Investor in People.

Much of the organisation’s practices in relation to the Standard are exemplary and this review highlighted a number of strengths. A particular strength is the approach to people management where the directors are open to ideas, take a genuine interest in their people and are generous with their time and support. They are evidently keen to ensure that people are given an equal opportunity to develop and meet their personal/career development aspirations as well as the needs of the business. “
